1-DAY "TRYOUT PREP" CAMPS in the Twin Cities West Metro
Our 1-Day Tryout Prep Camps dedicated to helping athletes get ready for their upcoming travel or school season tryouts which are held by most associations in late-August or September. These camps are separated for boys and girls to offer a lot of scrimmage and competition opportunities! See details below on what the camp will include.

August 14, 2023 - BOYS entering 4th-6th grades
9am-4pm with lunch break from noon-1pm

August 15, 2023 - BOYS entering 7th-8th grades 
9am-4pm with lunch break from noon-1pm

August 16, 2023 - GIRLS entering 7th-8th grades 
9am-4pm with lunch break from noon-1pm

August 17, 2023 - GIRLS entering 4th-6th grades 
9am-4pm with lunch break from noon-1pm

Cost: $80 (with Hoops Training T-Shirt included)
Location: Victoria Rec Center
Each camp group is limited to just 32 participants.
Register for upcoming 2023-24 grade level.
*may not receive shirt if registering after July 31...may have a few extras though

The camps are led by Hoops Training Director Andrew Dahl with other camp coaches added based on number of registrants.​

Camp Itinerary:  
​
Morning session will focus on:
(1) "Fine-tuning" shooting form and what coaches and evaluators look for at tryouts
(2) Handling pressure - dribbling, passing, pivoting, and being strong with the ball
(3) Moves to create scoring chances and finishing at the rim
(4) Defensive and boxing out techniques, repetitions, and tips

After lunch break (players must bring own lunch) we'll move into:
(1) Contested and creating space for shots
(2) Using the moves worked on in morning session vs both live and guided defense
(3) Scrimmaging situations 1on1, 3on3, and 5on5 - some where coaches step in to offer guidance and some where it's more tournament-style play
(4) Fun competitions and games!
